About the workshop

The Principles of Certification (PoC) workshop is a forum for researchers and practitioners working on certification of computing systems. Certification is a well-established and increasingly active area of research within formal methods. The goal of certification is not only to formally prove that a model satisfies a specification, but also to provide the user with a certificate, which serves as a witness of correct verification and thus enhances the trustworthiness of formal verification results and tools. Examples of certificates include ranking functions or invariants in program verification, certificates, e.g., proofs of unsatisfiability, in SAT and SMT solving, Lyapunov and barrier functions in control systems, supermartingale certificates in probabilistic system verification, or neural certificates for AI verification.

PoC provides a dedicated venue for researchers working on certification of different classes of computing systems to present their work, exchange ideas and foster collaboration across disciplinary boundaries.
